Great Ocean Road

We're in Melbourne now with Laura's family. Makes such a change to have proper beds, home cooked meals etc. Last night they drove us for 3 hrs to see penguins- it was really amazing to see hundreds of them coming out of the sea and running back to their holes in the ground.
Monday Glen's driving us a long the great ocean road which is really nice of him to do- usually costs about a hundred to do a day trip a long it.
Was a bit depressed the last few days just because we've had to say bye to so many people (including the Norwegians we were travelling with). Met a guy from California in Byron bay who was working in the hostel &
has offered us a place to stay in California so will be nice to see him again. Loved that place anyway, probably one of my favorite in Australia so far, amazing scenery and a lot of chilled people.

In Sydney, it rained.

Hitchhike to Captain Cook

Byron

We're in Byron bay atm which is a really cool laid back town. We've just been to a market full of old hippies- the cutest family band were there- looked like they'd stepped out of a time warp.Had quite a fun night last night just love meeting new people all the time! The worst thing about it is saying goodbye, i'm really sick of it and its really sad thinking some of these people you'll never see again! Saying that the girl who picked us up to the hostel turns out was the same girl we danced the whole night with on a bar until 10am in Thailand- didnt think id ever see her again.

Really love travelling, could carry on forever...... I miss you so much just don't miss much else really.

We're in surfers paradise atm after spending a couple of days in Brisbane which was a nice city. We had to buy lots of new clothes because its so cold and had nothing to keep warm! Managed to find the Australian equivalent of primark but still managed to spend too much (guess hadn't been shopping in a long time!)
Think we'll head to Byron bay tomorrow and hopefully spend a bit longer there..... we've started trying to surf but hasn't been going to well so far but meeting lots of people happy to give us lessons :)

Airlie beach

We stayed 3 nights in that hostel in cairns (such a nice shower!), then spent 2 nights in mission beach which was a pretty cool place as well- went white water rafting there which was a lot of fun -fancied our instructor a bit ha, he gave us loads of details for california where he knows a girl who would pick us up and show us around and possibly some accommodation and more rafting for free which would be cool!

We're now in Airlie beach and staying in another hostel surrounded by trees. All the boys in our room are leaving tomorrow so not looking forward to being woken up early! in a couple of days planning to do a sailing trip for 3days, so excited for that...
